Jets Over Whidbey 2016
Hello to All,
The 26th annual Jets Over Whidbey is rapidly approaching. JOW is the premier jet event in the Pacific Northwest and is held at a fantastic site at NAS Whidbey OLF 3 miles south of downtown Coupeville WA. The event this year is being held on Aug 26th, 27th, and 28th. Lunch for Friday and Saturday along with a JOW 2016 Tee Shirt are included as part of the $35 registration fee. The banquet will be held Saturday night at Captain Whidbeys restaurant and Inn. Entrees will range from $25 to $40 per person. This event is a sanctioned event and is limited to turbine powered fixed wing aircraft. EDF's are also welcome with a minimum of 100mm fan. FAA registration numbers are required to fly at this event. Additional info can be obtained via www.jetsoverwhidbey.com. Dry camping has been authorized by the Navy. The site will be available on the 25th for those who wish to bring their rigs in a day early.
We look forward to seeing our friends from Canada, Oregon, Idaho, and California as well as everyone else. It's a great event with plenty of air time for all !!!
Chime in if you plan on attending.
See you then !!!

It would be good if you guy's actually came out from behind the line's and talked to people, the hobby might grow in this area. Been there 3 times and no one comes out and interacts with anyone unless they know them .

Well, it seemed like it took a while for summer to get here this year but the weather has been good and JOW 2016 should be a great time for all. Last year, mother nature was none too accommodating. The highlight was watching the porta potties get blown down the roadway !!! It will be good to see old friends and share 3 days of flying at the OLF in Coupeville. Those who bring RV's will be able to roll in anytime after 10:00 am on Thursday. For those who will be visiting as spectators feel free to flag me down if you have any questions or if you just want to talk about the hobby. I'm the tall good looking guy wearing the straw hat. Well I will be wearing a straw hat and I am tall. 2 out of 3 aint bad !!!
Look forward to seeing everyone there...

Hey Bill,
Glad to see this event keeps going. I'm buried in books this year, business grad school... I still have a boomer Elan / P-70 to throw around and buddy box like last time, but that weekend is not looking good. Too bad, JOW's my favorite event of the season... Maybe - just maybe I'll have Watson's old HotSpot kit in flyable shape next year...
If I can't make it down - have fun and fly safe, and I hope the porta-johns right side up this time!
