Default sub and amp for an RC

I was thinking about putting a music system in one of my RC's. the ascender has the most room so more than likely it will end up there. i took a music bullet apart and made a sub box from a divided plastic box i think for fishing lures and i am using the same box to make a amp box to hold the electronics from the music bullet so it will kinda look like an amp.

i had to add some to the sub box so the speaker would fit in.
just started making the amp.

it will run off the battery from the bullet for now until i can get to figuring out the info to hook it up to the battery in the ascender.

Cool! I was thinking of this idea as well. Be nice to have some tunes while your taking a rest on the trail or crawling. Was also thinking this idea for my r/c tanks to listen to music while battles are getting staged. Came across this board, the main draw for me is the remote. It runs off 6-12V. Not sure how the interface is with it though.

that looks interesting. not a lot of info about it. ill look around and see if i find any info on it. for less that 10 bucks might be worth a try. i see it has two connectors they may be for an arduino to hook up to.

yea, was thinking the same thing. For that price if it's junk or just doesn't perform no biggie. Not sure yet if it is stand alone or needs another support board. Have one on the way. Will report back once it arrives and I mess with it.

Well i guess it done for now. yes the amp looks way to big but it will be smaller once the battery is removed and i make a smaller case for it.

sorry some of the pics are sideways. not sure why it does that sometimes.

Looks cool Rusted! Just make sure your not that kid at a street light with the booming sub and all you hear are the light buckets and panels vibrating off the car. Always laugh at those bozo's.

Thanks TheBennyB. Haha yeah that is funny. exhaust pipe rattling licence plate flapping off the back. we got a lot like that around here. i like to have deep bass in my music but it ruins it if there is a bunch of rattling with it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQYJe51tZxc Here's the mp3 player. It's not real loud since it's made to power headphones. Also, the pause when I first change songs is not because of the system, the intro to the 2nd song is quiet so you just can't really hear it. Song change is instantaneous with pushing the button on the remote. Still pretty cool with the remote and
if you just want to be able to hear something while your not running, could be a fun mod to mess with, especailly at the price point. Oh yea and disregard anything I say about scale sound, don't think there is such a thing .

That is really cool. i think that would work out great with the sub and amp i did because it's powered and amplifies the sound. is that a laptop speaker you have there? i'm thinking that i might have to grab one of them up. thanks for sharing TheBennyB.

That is a locomotive speaker, think HO scale. I grab small speakers for custom builds at dccsupplies. Could also look at dcchobbysupplies.

I have some of these. they came from P.O.S computers like you would find in a fast food place. the motherboard is right behind the screen and two small speakers at the bottom. i was thinking they might be good scale 6x9 speakers.

They remind me of 6x9's in boxes like ones that hang from the roll bar inside a jeep wrangler.

If we're saying forget scale...

For less than $50 you can get a Bluetooth rechargeable speaker at any electronics or even grocery/drug stores, Walmart, Target, etc. That way you get loud sound controlled by your smartphone as long as you stay in decent range.

I remember buying a mini cylindrical one by SOS or something for like $25 at Target as a gift for someone. It could easily fit on a 1/10 or larger vehicle and it sounded pretty decent for the price.

i tried the bluetooth way with one these.

it's a groove cube. if the rc gets more than 6 to 8 feet away from my phone it disconnects. kinda the reason why i'm going for the wired setup.
hey benny how far from the mp3 player does the remote reach?
