Default How we build a foamy Jet for 6Kg turbine

Hi..

This video shows how we build a foamy jet for 6-7Kg turbine, It is much cheaper , light weight and easy to repair ,the best choice of small scale jet.

I have never liked foamy’s but I must confess that I am impressed. I guess that people like me who build all winter from plywood and composites to awesome costs are a breed on the brink of extinction. Maybe I´ll just give up one day, shut up, and by myself a foamy?

This is my design "all up foamy" jet with 6+kg thrust turbine at 10.5kg AUW. Built from few 6mm sheets of depron and carbon fiber reinforced for strength.

Right off the bat:

1) A very professional, clean operation - that just smacks of quality
2) Opening up and showing actual production is a great confidence booster. Even if it was completely staged, you can tell from the facilities that HSD has sunk some serious resources into their production.
3) Having been skeptical of foamy jets, in particular (can they take the stress and heat?), I'm kind of intrigued
4) Foamies still aren't right for me yet, though I can certainly see their place and why someone would want one.

Thank you for sharing the video - it was very intriguing and impressive.

Thank you, great job taking the time and showing confidence in your product and facility enough to share with everyone. The foam jets are not quite my style, (at least not yet), I can definately see their appeal. I did fly a buddies (HSD) global jet viper turbofoam turbine jet at our jet rally last weekend. I will admit I was impressed, engine ran flawless, and plane flew absolutely perfect.
Thank you for sharing the video

I have the tbirds F-16 but have not flown it yet. I had about a 2 month wait for the Ace 60 motor which came in the other day. I saw in the video what looked like a Mirage 2000 being test flown. I hope for more choices in models maybe a saber, mig or T-33 in foam

Wow Thomas, great video. You all should be very proud of what you have created.

I've run a manufacturing company for 40 years here in the USA and I can feel the pride you have in your operation and people.

It makes me think back on a time in history when that would have been possible to set something like that up here in the States. That train has left the station and I don't want to get all political but I'm glad to see a great capitalist, entrepreneural spirit is still alive ... Even if It's in a communist country

I'm putting together one of you F-16's this weekend that I bought from Mike Lin of GJC. So far I'm very impressed with the engineering and quality. The density of your EPO foam is amazing.

Best of luck to you here in the USA.

That was a great video. I'm on a terminal at work with no sound so I couldn't hear the audio. It would be cool to see the injection moulding process too! I have to admit, very nice operation going on there.

Have you guys thought about compressed EPO with urethane outer shell to give stiffness?

You can make the jets larger with some internal support and not have the nicks and scratches on the EPO that come with transporting

regards

Global wants 1400 seems high for a foamie. Is there another US supplier?
