"First in Flight" Jet Rally May 24-28 2017
The “First in Flight” Jet Rally is just a short time away. This year's event will take place May 24, through the 28th. Preparations are in the works already to make this the best one yet. We’re just a little over three months away from doing it all again! We’ve already met with the city of Wilson and the Wilson Industrial Air Center and I can tell you all they are very excited about getting you guys back to put on the awesome show you have in the past. Wilson is without a doubt one of the best venues in the country to fly at. Add to that a 4500’ X 150” Runway, large hanger for overnight storage, great camping facility right at the airport, shopping, hotels, restaurants and much more within 5 minutes of the airport and you have one great event! Better yet, it’s just 3 short miles off interstate I-95 !!!! Last year’s event saw over 130 pilots from all around and we’re looking to top that again this year.
● Extended flying Times! Beginning at 7:00 AM and running until 7:30 PM. We just need to leave enough daylight for crews to re-open the runways and remove X’s. These hours should provide enough time for everyone to get in as much flying as their thumbs can handle!
We’re looking forward to seeing all of you guys again and hope to see many more new faces at this year’s event. If you haven’t had the chance to fly with us at First In Flight, mark your calendars and get on down the North Carolina for 5 days of fun! See you there.

The pilots have spoken, and we listened!

No Bleachers will located inside the main pits this year. This will leave the whole pit row open to display models and park your extra planes. That's a 75' wide area of open space all down through the pits! This also provides a very easy access for all pilots to enter and exit the start up area with their models. Spectator bleachers will again be located on the north side of the event, providing them an unobstructed view of the whole event.

More Awards! We're adding several awards to this years event.

As in years past, your Saturday Night Banquet, and your event T-Shirt will be included with your pilots registration fee! No extra fees to deal with. At the request of many, we will have extra event shirts on hand for sale this year should you want extras.

More event info to come, so check back often. !!!!!! So mark your calendars now. It's gonna be a great one!!!

Here's a pic showing a little more detail of where the airport is in reference to I-95. Also is a picture showing where hotels are. 3rd pic shows where just a few of the many restaurants are. All of which are within a 5 minute drive. Attached Thumbnails

As for the facility itself, you couldnt ask for a better place to fly! A 4500' X 150' runway, wide open space out front, long clear approaches, and a 75' wide pit row! . Attached Thumbnails

Our Wilson Industrial Air Center event site gives a whole new meaning to the term "WFO".

And our 4500 x 150 foot main paved runway is smooth, flat, and wide.

Once you guys are done drilling holes in the clouds each day, Wilson provides a great place to store your pride and joy at night. Its located right beside the camping area, and we provide truck / trailer transport service for those who want to haul their jets rather than push it to the hanger. Attached Thumbnails

OK boys! Its time to start posting some of the awesome news and support we're getting at First in Flight this year! This is UNREAL FOLKS!!!!!! Take a look at some of the amazing prizes, raffle items, and free pilot give always we're going to be giving away at FIF this year.
Let start with all the incredible prizes our friends at FEJ are going to be giving away this year!
So here is how it all begins.......
Fly Eagle Jets has REALLY stepped up the game boys. For starters how about these two awesome auction items. The super cool, super big 1-4.6 F-16!!!!! Back that up with their 1/6 F-18 We'll be putting both of these beautiful models up on the auction block Saturday night

But it keeps getting BETTER!!!! FEJ wanted to do something just for the pilots, and reward them for doing what pilots love to do best. FLY! So check THIS out. Every time a pilot completes a flight at FIF, he'll be given a ticket to fill out. He simply gives that ticket to our staff under the registration tent and they'll drop it in the raffle barrel. On Saturday night we'll be drawing not one,,,but TWO tickets out of the Pilots Flight barrel. If we call YOUR name, you WIN one of two awesome jets. FEJ has donated both a
2.66 BAE Hawk AND a 2.38 Hawk!!!!!! And all you have to do to win one of them is FLY at FIF!!!! No tickets to buy, Just Fly!!!!

Pretty cool huh? But wait,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Could it actually get any better? You Bet It Can!!!!!!! FEJ didn't stop there folks. Knowing First in Flight is all about fun, flying and fellowship, they stepped it up again! FIF typically has around 130 pilots. But the good word keeps getting spread every year and you keep bring new buddies with you each year. So FEJ says to me, "Larry, if you reach 150 pilots this year, we're going to add ANOTHER great plane to the mix just for the Pilots Flight give away" That right guys 3 planes!!!! No,,,wait,,,,,,,,,,, If memory serves me right, FEJ said, "Get 200 pilots to attend the meet, and we'll give you FOUR planes"!!!!!!! So now we add the
1/6 F-16 and the FEJ Sport Jet!!!! Pick me up off the floor folks!!!!!

It's about this time my jaw hits the table, and FEJ says, "No wait,,,there's MORE"!!! " MORE??????? Yes, MORE! Now FEJ adds a whole load of electronics to list. So check this out. They're donated no less than
FIVE of the EV5UA 5.0 Multi Function Valves. And the keep adding,,, Now they add TEN of the EU2 Dual Action Valves, and FIVE of the FEJ LED Light systems!!!!!! Dudes,,,, we're gonna need to bring in more tables to the banquet area just to place all this loot!!!!!!!!!

First in Flight can not thank the great folks at FEJ for all of these amazing donations. First in Flight is all about flying and having a great time. And now FEJ has stepped up in a huge way to make all that possible again this year, but even better than before!

Karen and I are planning to attend.
This year we will be joining the SC gang and raising cane with the rest of you!
I saw the great vid's of your newest Hawk.
Perhaps a two-ship flight when you come up for air during the event?
Take care for now Larry, see ya soon.

First in Flight keeps getting better folks! Our great friend Larry Roper is doing it again. He's has graciously donated another one of his amazingBoomerang RC Models.
This year he's hooking you guys up with the amazing Boomerang Elan! Everyone in the RC Jet world knows these twin boom wonders provide not only a great flying model, but one that has a very wide flight envelope. No doubt we'll be seeing many of these great flying Boomers at First in Flight this year!
